I use a variety of materials and methodologies applied to the language of objects to make sculptures, collages and drawings. Balancing imagination and sleight of handcraft, issues of history, science, fantasy, illusion and autobiography are examined; highlighting acute and uneven correspondences between them.

Mike Libby, creator of Insect Lab, graduated from RISD's sculpture program in 1999 and has attended the Vermont Studio Center, exhibited throughout the US and Canada and is in collections worldwide. Current shows are at Rutger's University "Specimen" exhibit in New Jersey and at Device Gallery's "Reconstructed" in San Diego, CA. Future participating exhibits are at the Peabody Museum in Salem, MA, Atrium Gallery at USM Lewiston-Auburn College in Maine, and at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.
